Hi,

Recently, in a videconference involving RPG500 and RMX1500, on some RPG on the "connected" indicator a "Noisy" indicator appear, as in the screenshot. The RPG and RMX are on a vlan, with 3 Mbps bandwidth for each, and until now we didn't have such issue.

Does anybody have a suggestion?

Thanks

Hello ibucur,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

A couple of questions:

  • Software Version of the RealPresence Group in question?
Are these always the same RealPresence Group?
  • Software Version of the RMX?
Did you check the Admin Guide under the chapter Guidelines for Automatically Muting Noisy Endpoints ?
Is someone in that room talking or any background noise?
  • Did this only start after an upgrade of the RMX or GroupSeries or any other changes?

Hi Steffen

Please find below the answers:

5.0.2. software version of RPG

I had observed the problem on all RPG

8.5.11 Version of RMX

As it can be seen in the screenshot, the RPG are muted by the participant. So in this case the word "Noisy" I think that is not related to the room environment but to the network or RPG.

Thanks

Hello ibucur,

is this a network issue?

Has this always happened or only recently ?

If yes what has changed?

We need more details and maybe a network analysis. These are things only Polycom support can do.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you.

Hi Steffen,

Only recently this issue appear.

It can be a network issue, the end of last year we changed the internal ethernet network to an MPLS-TP one.

But the observed issue was till now only on the RPG which we faced also multiconference music problem or dropped frames while People+content send content.

When you are talking about a network analysis do you refer to some specific tests/methods?

The videoconference network is designed with a 3 Mbps guaranteed bandwidth  COS 6 for each RPG, considered more then sufficient.

The last days I increase to 5 Mbps all RPG connections, and we will look to see what is hapening.

Best regards,
