Does the RS232 port on HDX7000 functions the same way as on HDX8000?

Hello,
At one point the HDX 7000 didn't have API capability. After the release of 3.0.2 API capability was given to the HDX 7000. All of the RS 232 function are now the same between the 8000 and 7000.
