CMA dial rule/string manipulation

Can someone share example of working solution for ISDN prefix dialing with CMA+RMX?

Accordiong to Polycom guides RMX is not registered as gateway service (why???!!!) - well, no one is  perfect.

From RMX doc recomedation is to use dial rule on CMA to substitute desirable prefix (8 for ex.) with [RMX alias = 11][RMX ISDN GW profile ID = 5667]**

Direct dialing using ISDN prefix as 115667**phone# works (though I cannot see any traces of this service registered with CMA, everything is hidden, very bad habbit), but dialing 8phone# do nothing.

ARQs shows nothing suspicious: 8 is substituted by 115667** and nothing happens, not call setup, no errors...

There are two ways of doing this with the CMA. The first method involves creating a dial rule which bascially substitutes the dial string like you have it. The only issue with this method is that you are forced into 1 specific bit rate as it would too difficult for normal users to remember to dial different prefixes depending on the bit rate. It can be done, but it is not very user friendly. In your example, you use the number 8. Remember this is a prefix, so no other endpoints or devices can have a alias that starts with the number 8. CMA would not be able to tell the difference if you were trying to dial 8{alias} or 8{phone number}.

The preferred method is setup simpified dialing where the end user simply dials the 9 and the number. The prefix selected will then depend on the bit rate the end user has selected. In this method, the only prefix the end user has to know is the number 9. Again, the same rules apply, no other aliases should start with the number 9 is this feature is going to be used. Also in this method, you have to not select Register as a Gateway on the RMX as this will register the RMX services on the CMA incorrectly.

I have put together a guide on how to set this up. If you follow the example given in the screenshot, you will be successful.
