if i had multiple remote sites each with VBP-E each running in embedded GK, is it possible to neighboring these GKs so that they send LRQ when required.

Shabana,

Yes. In embedded GK mode, the VBP-E will send LRQs to all of its neighbored GKs if it cannot resolve an address. Or, if you use the prefix associated with that neighbor statement, it will send the LRQ only to that specific gatekeeper.

However, VBP-E units in LAN or WAN side GK mode will not generate LRQs, they will simply pass ARQ and setup messages to their parent GK.

is it working only in embedded GK mode?

is it possiable to add neighbor without adding the prefix if yes then how? becuse it seems it requires to add a prefix.

thnx

Shabana,

Yes to both questions. The VBP will only process gatekeeper messages itself when it is in embedded GK mode. If it is in LAN/WAN GK it forwards the requests on to its parent gatekeeper and when it is in peering proxy mode it will only forward calls that match one of the predefined prefixes.

And the process of adding a neighbor does require that a prefix be specified.
