Hello,

I have followed the steps for configuring redundancy with 2 RPRM servers but when it's done, I can't reach the virtual IP address, neither on GUI or ICMP. However the redundancy seems ok, I can switch server role.

A crossover cable is physically connected between the 2 servers via the Redundant NIC of each server (port 2) and the Redundant NIC IP addresses are in the same subnet.

Also, I deploy this to replace a CMA 5000 but I don't know how to retrieve CMA licenses and put it in the RPRM.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hello cvautier,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Thank you for your reply.

The version of the 2 RPRM is 8.2.0 and I have checked the release notes, this version allows redundancy.

I've posted these questions to see if someone has already encountered my issue.

Hi here,

In order to migrate from CMA to RPRM you need to get the migration kit (CD, license, docs) from Polycom.

In order to implement redundant configuration you need to have the High Availability license.

Please contact with your Polycom reseller for more details.

Hi Mike,

I didn't know about that migration kit, thank you!

For the redundant configuration, I have the HA license and I put it on the primary server. After the redundant configuration, the virtual IP address doesn't respond.

As I could guess you have HA license for CMA, isn't it?

If so then after migrating you could request to  convert it to RPRM HA license.

No I have received one HA license with the 2 RPRM servers. I put it on my active server after the redundance configuration because I couldn't reach the virtual IP address of the cluster. So I don't know if this is "normal" or I did something wrong

You should receive two licenses for two servers. For more details take a look at RPRM Operations Guide -> "Request a Software License File" and "License a Redundant System".

By my mind you need to get the assistance from Polycom technical support directly.

Understood, I will do that. Thank you for helping!
