Hello,

Has anyone seen the following issue crop up? Trying to perform the standard seriall console port attempt:

  • Username:          “root”
  • Password:            “@#$%^&*!()” – (Hold the shift key and press “2-3-4-5-6-7-8-1-9-0”)

The unit is a VBP 5300-ST. The strange things is as the client enters the password string, he was getting invalid password messages, when he noticed the very first 2 characters, @# are not echoeing back and they are the only characters that are showing that symptom. This happens on 2 different laptops, so it is something to do with how the VBP is responding back. We even tried the manual entry of the characters via the hexadecimal unicoding, which again, works for other characters but those @# items.

Also tried the physical erase button

  • Press twice:                          The CLI password is reset.
  • Press three times:           The device is set to the factory defaults

This did not respond as well to return a "root" & "default" reset.
