I have a polycom sound station 2w and it occasionally beeps randomly.  Does anyone know what this is or what the beep means?  Can i stop it?  I'm getting some complaints from the surrounding offices and i don't know how to address the complaints since i don't know what it is.  Could it be that the batteries are low, or fully charged?  Is it some kind of self test to make sure the device is working properly?

Is it possible that someone could call the device and listen in to the surrounding conversation without being detected?  This was one of the concerns that was brought to my attention.

Hello kls762us,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Is this a new or a used SoundStation 2W?

If used how old is it? Do you have a serial for us.

Usually the only tone I could think of is the out of range tone but I believe that comes with a Visual Message on the LCD screen. There is no real way to "listen" in on you so I would not be to worried.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
