Hello,

 

a customer reported the followng issue:

 

When he uses his RP Mobile client (both IOS and Android) he has no connection to the global directory.

 

The client is gatekeepered with the VBP-ST and they use a CMA 4000 with SW version 6.2.5 for provisioning.

If you check the "Monitor View" of the devices you can see a warning sign and the message "Directory Service is not connected" I have checked all directrory settings and provisioning settings.

 

Since this a financial company and they are very strict with granting access to their network - could it be that the fiirewall is blocking LDAP request (Port 389) ?

 

I have also checked the VBP and it says that 389 is activated.

 

Just need a hint where to look first and if theres something I have forgotten to check.

Hi Sebastian...

if provisioning settings are ok, you should talk to the security / firewall guys to check the needed port.

They should be able to tell you if that one is open or if data is blocked.

 

Are internal RPM clients able to connect to global directory ?

we couldn' test the interbnal clients, because the customer didn' tmanage to connect his client to the internal WiFi....

 

He told me that the FW Team made some changes and I will have another remotesession with him tomorrow..

Make sure local users (Who at same site where RPRM sitting)able to access global directory.

Hi Yash,

 

unfortunately they have a very limited network access in their internal wifi. They are unable to connect to their Polycom infrastructure using intenal WiFi (financial company). I will let them test, if the AD login for CMA Desktop works and if they see the driectory there.

Sounds network issue.

 

To connect over wifi for video should have centralized wifi solution to get video dial in calls over mobility device.
