We've started deploying VVX handsets (mostly 311 but some 600s) using the BToE (1.0.0) to authenticate. I've had a few users complain that after they installed the BToE application the could no longer use the PC's audio. After some checkign with other users It was determained that they all used some USB speaker or docking solution. Is there some way to fix this issue?

At this time I have been reassigning these users different phones, not using BToE and flipping the default formate from 16bit, 4800 Hz (DVD Quality) to 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality), under the Advanced tab of the USB's Speakers Properties. I got those instructions from this page Polycom BToE Hates My USB Audio Device.

Is there any other solution people have found?

Preferably one that does not require fliping these settings again any time the user needs to re-launch of BToE application?

Is there a "clean" way to uninstall BToE, as this speaker setting needs to be flip even after a un-install?

Note:

Depending on the app of the media source you might see other errors. As that page said they got an error window in Windows Media Player. I have also seen Spotify declare songs aren't avalable for play, then continue to try the next song in the list. Other apps get stuck in a endless loading cycle, popular responce with podcasts players or radio steams. YouTube will play the video with no audio.

I have no idea where I got that old version. The link of the new version 3.6, I'll keep testing with this update version.

Hello BaldingAdmin,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

The latest currently support software version for the Phones is UC Software 5.6.0 and the compatible BToE Version is 3.6.0.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
