I have a customer piloting the VVX 410 running s/w version 5.4.3.1014 and a VVX 510, s/w version unknown.  When the customer connects both to a Netgear Pro Safe POE switch the VVX 510 boots up and obtains an IP address where as the VVX 410 does not.  (Yes, DHCP is enabled on the 410)

To eliminate the possibility of it being a bad port on the switch, we disconnected 510 from the switch and connected the 410 to the same port.

However, if the customer unplugs the Netgear switch from the wall and then plugs the VVX410 into the same jack, the VVX410 boots up, obtains an IP address and all is right with the world.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this and if so, how were you able to solve it?

Hello Phillip,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Just a correction as there is no VVX510. We only have a VVX500 or a VVX501.

We would need to see some wireshark traces in order to determine what kind of network traffic is causing the issue.

You need to open a service ticket with your Polycom reseller so Polycom support can have a look at this.

If the reseller is some Internet discounter and is unable or unwilling to do this please provide me with a MAC address of one of the phones and I look this up.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
