I have seen some related posts to this topic Join External and Forwarded Skype Meetings

The Trio displays all meetings from the calendar but only displays the Join Meeting button on meetings that were set up as SfB meetings on the associated SIP.

However when a Meeting is set up by a federated partner, the Join button does not appear.

Is there a specific reason why the Join button is not shown?  Perhaps the federated partner is malforming the definition or something is being removed.

The same meeting sent to users using SfB on laptops work fine - in that clicking on the links on the meeting invitation works.  It is just the Trio that has no button to press.

The Trio is running 5.4.5.

Does anyone have any insight as to how the Trio builds the "Join" button or what criteria is missing in the meeting invitation that might help us diagnose the issue?

Just a FYI - the TNEFEnabled setting needs to be on the Sending side in order for the email to be transmitted with the necessary info.

Hello Patrick,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Please try adding this to your configuration:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<PHONE_CONFIG>
  <ALL
    exchange.meeting.parseOption="All"
  />
</PHONE_CONFIG>

Prior Software Versions had this set to "All" but now I believe it is defaulted to "Location"

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Thank you for that sugestion.

While we set up a test, we came across another Microsoft technet post refering to the need for TNEFEnabled to be set to true on Exchange. Is the Trio looking for that MAPI content to create the Join button?

We have tested the "exchange.meeting.parseOption="All"" configuration but it has not made any difference. Federated organised meetings don't get a join button.

Interestingly, the same meeting on a users laptop, when you right click on a calendar entry with a SfB meeting does show the additional menu item "Join Skype Meeting".

Just to confirm - that this was resolved with the TNEFE settings on exchange as mentioned by .

To provide some information should anyone else have the issue;

MS technet extract below:

You need to ensure that in the organizer’s Exchange 2013 environment, the remote domain matching your Exchange 2013 environment, has the parameter TNEFEnabled set to True (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232174.aspx#External). When TNEFEnabled is set to true Exchange 2013 does not strip MAPI properties including OnlineMeetingExternalLink and the Join button will be shown on the reminder.

Let us assume that the SMTP domain of the attendee is contoso.com. In the organizer’s Exchange 2013 environment it is necessary to create a remote domain with TNEFEnabled = True representing contoso.com. One way of doing it is by using the following commands in Exchange Management Shell:

  • New-RemoteDomain -Name contoso.com -DomainName contoso.com
  • Set-RemoteDomain -Identity contoso.com -TNEFEnabled:$true
