We will be using VVX601,VVX501,VVX401 all on the lateset firmware, 5.6.0.17325. I have the shared.cfg working and provisioning phones, in the UC Software 5.6.0 Admin Guide, I see that it's possible to apply the master config along with a config for each model. It doesn't say where in the master config that I can set the config named after the part or model number of each phone so it would be applied.

Hello Dustin,

I explained it in my reply and you still got it wrong.

You must not replace the 3 different strings you can use.

Your actual physical file needs to be either called the Part Number, Mac Address or the Phone model.

If you are unable to follow the FAQ or the Admin Guide please open a support ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Steffen, thanks for the reply. I tried the two different methods mentioned, using the [VVX301.cfg] and appending the model number after the attribute, just using this one as an example, ptt.pageMode.enable.VVX301="0" . But can't seem to get either to work. In my 000000000000.cfg, that is how I have the shared2.cfg set with the VVX301.cfg, see attached screenshot.

Thanks

Hello Dustin,

You did not seem to understand the FAQ.

Your filename on your provisioning server would as an example be VVX301.cfg

The 00000000000.cfg or the individual <mac>.cfg would have:

Config_files="[PHONE_MODEL].cfg"

You would have to use the substitution string as the phone itself would replace the string with the phone model name.

Not knowing your cfg or any logs makes it hard to try and help.

Okay here is the 000000000000.cfg, shared.cfg, and the VVX501.cfg. Not all of the settings are set, just testing out options right now.

Thanks

Okay, that was my mistake and misunderstaing from your comments and the admin guide. The master config has the shared.cfg and [PHONE_MODEL].cfg and that refers to an actual file on the provisioning server that holds the updated config for that model only.
