More Skype for Business & Trio Woes

Can anyone shed any light as to why my Trio isnt connecting to Skype ?

A couple of things.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Stating the above you are lucky as the log snippet actually includes this detail.

Is this a hosted Skype for Business solution or Skype for Business online aka O365 ?

 

If O365 did this ever work or are you using the currently unsupported Modern Authentication ?

This is usually a sign something may be wrong so I suggest you do the following:

 

  1. Upgrade to a currently supported version

  2. Verify this is not Modern Authentication 

  3. If you still get any core files raise this with ScanSource Video Communications Ltd. who sold this unit back in 12/06/2017 and are your Tier 1 support on this.

So i've made sure the device is running the latest FW ..

i've addressed the issue of the device not connecting on port 5061 (let that through the firewalls out the to microsoft ports)

 

However, i'm still having issues ... help ?

As it happens ... the problem appears to be with our security implementation!

 

As soon as I used a skype account with MFA enabled, the device connected to skype and made full use of our cloud pbx service.

 

Moral of the story .. be careful how secure you make your network ... it'll come back to bite you at some point!
