RealPresence Trio 8800 Skype4B/Lync sign in error!

Hello
I am not able to logon to a local installation of skype for business 2016, using RealPresence Trio 8800!
When I sign in, an information box appears, with text: “Signing into Microsoft Lync”
-this box hangs, and nothing happens! (Until I cancel the requests)

 

I do not have any problems using the same user on a Win10 skype4B installation -from se same network!

Any idears?

 

In this connection example, have have the TRIO phone set op in a public network, reaching our skype infrastrukture through a firewall

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

I assume you mean Skype for Business 2015 instead of 2016

 

Looking at your logs:

The above looks like a DNS issue

 

In addition:

We usually get this if we cannot reach the Server.

sorry -Right now I am using UC version:

UC Software Version 5.4.4.7776

I have also tested with 5.4.5.911, but tryed a rollback -just to try something!

 

 

Yes, it looks like a dns issue, but I can resolve the addresse using the address name!

I do not think the problem is in the skype/Lync setup, since hundreds of users are using the setup every day!

 

I have moved the RealPresence back inbound, and updated the phone to newest software (5.4.5.9111)

Now, I do not get the dns errors, but I still see many faild operations in the log –and the login process still hangs.

 

eg  - Configuration of URL failed, Uploading phoneWeb.cfg failed and Update configuration failed

 

Before, I was putting in the server address directly on the phone.(removed auto-discovery)

Hello Jesper,

 

Again without following my advise and lowering the log levels I am unable to see anything else in the log. The provisioning errors can be ignored as you do not have a local provisioning server.


The Skype for Business Client and the CX Phones work in "mysterious" ways aka they have additional undocumented ways to find the Skype server.

 

Is this a Skype for Business Online setup that uses modern Authentication ?

 

If yes then this will not work with the Trio as only of UC Software 5.5.x we support this aka the VVX can use it but not the Trio.

 

I suggest you log a ticket with Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH who we have sold the phone via 14/03/2017.

Hi

Please tell me what you would like me to lower the level to!
As I can see, there are the following levels: 0 – 6

         Debug, Event 1, Event 2, Event 3, Minor Error, Major Error, Fatal Error.

My post shows Event 2 logs!  (default setting)

Which (I think) include logs at level 2-6! -is this incorrect?

We do not use modern authentication!

 

Our Skype setup is, Skype for business 2015 on premise. -with standard settings.

I have also tried with a Skype for business online user, with the same result.
