We have a new installation of Skype For Business 2015 and we have two conference rooms with Polycom CX5500. The video only works when using the USB connected to a computer/laptop and sharing its Skype For Business meeting. How do i get the CX5500 to use video in a conference room without needing a PC in the room?

Do we need to enable the Skype For Business 2015 Video Interoperabilty Server for this to work? Is there something else we are missing?

Hello Ekrem,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The CX5500 unlike the CX5100 has an additional Telephone functionality.

This can be either a SIP or Skype / LYNC line.

The phone itself is in no way connected to the camera and if you want to use the "camera" part of the unit a PC is required.

Does the CX5100 allow the camera to be used with Skype for Business 2015 without a PC?

HP Recommended

Hello gthardy,

both CX5100 and CX5500 require at present a Windows PC.

We do not officially support a Mac yet.

You could use the CX5x00 as a camera for a Crestron RL2. You wouldn't need a PC in this configuration.
