Hello

I am using IIS to provision a few Polycom Trio 8800 devices over HTTP within my company. Out of the box, my devices worked wonderfully with the Base Lync Profile installed from Polycom. After signing in, I was able to view the Calendar for the Exchange Room I logged in with, and perform a search of the Lync Address Book by going to Contacts > Contacts, then Search.

After setting up a provisioning server, I am unable to find the combination of parameters to make my device behave the same way. In regards to Calendar,  I've enabled feature.exchangeCalendar, and I've tried a combination of enabling EWS Autodiscover and feeding the EWS Address in the config file. In both cases, after the Trio boots and logs in to the Exchange Room, when I go to Calendar it says "Disconnected from server". After trying 100 combinations of parameters, I discovered all I needed to do to fix this was go to Settings > Status > Calendar, Disconnect from the server, then Connect to the Server. Magically, that fixes it and I'm able to see my calendar entries. This makes little sense, as the Calendar itself is telling me I'm disconnected, but then I'm able to disconnect from the Settings > Status menu. Why won't the Calendar simply work when it boots and logs in? We intend to hide the Settings menu from our users once deployed, so it's not a solution to continually have them Disconnecting and Reconnecting like described above.

In regards to Contacts, I'm completely unable to get the Contacts sub-menu to appear when using my own provisioning file. It shows on the homescreen, but when I press it, all I see is Local Directory. I've experimented with the parameters for LyncABS, and made sure they're enabled, but still no additional option. I'm even able to get Corporate Directory, Global Address Book, and Outlook Search to show up in there using their respective parameters, but why can't I get the normal Lync Address Book to show? As I said above, out of the box, this just looked like Contacts > Contacts and it worked great.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello muellesj,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP UC Software Version or the BootROM Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

As you already discovered, once the phone is in LYNC Base profile, you will only need to add your credentials. If your Network is setup correctly you should not need to add anything else.

You may need to import a certificate but your logs would show this.

I have the same Calendar issue as well, although my phone was configured with "Generic" profile and swapped to the Lync profile out of the box, and was supplied the EWS values via the web page.    Everything is working, except I find that the calendar needs a disconnect and reconnect from time to time, and after every reboot.   Now running the latest 5.4.4AA code released last week.

Hello philliplyle,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Great if you can always reproduce this it makes it easier for us.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post your phone's MAC address so I can look up who would be able to support you.

My ticket is still ongoing, but I did discover that this issue only occurs for me with Presence is disabled on the phone.  I am curious whether it is the same for the original poster.

I don't have the Polycom ticket number, but they essentially said it's a bug and asked whether I could work around the issue by leaving Presence on.  So, there's no fix, just a workaround.
