Trio 8800 SfB/Lync login Office365/On-prem issue

 

 I am having issues setting up accounts on Polycom Trio 8800.

 

I am able to log into Skype with the user account on PC with Skype for Business to Office365 cloud

and with another account that is set-up on our premises .We tried .onmicrosoft as well.

 

Trio 8800 seems to work only with a personal O365 tenant account.

I don't see a easy way to upload our root certificate to the device,just to modify xml file.

 

I have the latest firmware Version 5.4.4.7776.

I don't have any proxy server.

The time server is set up properly.

I cannot see any changed log levels in your snippet of the log and neither any certificate issues.

It seems that we have issues with DHCP ACK and DNS lookup and even SNTP server can't be found,but the time is shown right.

Can I ask how to fix it?

I would be more worried about the DNS.

 

I do not believe you set SIP or anything else at the recommended level and neither the DHCP Client so I simply suggest to work with Siphon Networks Ltd as they sold the phone back in 30/12/2016

 

They are your reseller and your Tier 1 contact and can open a Polycom support ticket for you.

I managed to resolve our DNS issues. Now seems a problem with our certificate.

I don't have access to our DHCP server to set option 43 or LDAP server.

 Do you know an easier way to upload the certificate to 8800? I tried to use the web management console Settings/Network/TLS but is saying ''The SSL certificate file failed to download''. 

I couldn't find what operating system Polycom 8800 is using. Does 8800 support Windows certificate?

Yet again you post part of a log that has not yet had the suggested logging levels set from the originally replied FAQ post.

 

The FAQ post has separate sections and it does cover Certificate issues.

 

Simply follow this or open a support ticket with Siphon Networks Ltd as they sold the phone back in 30/12/2016.

 

In regards of the Trio or a VVX phone utilizing Windows Certificates (It should be able to get these from LDAP / AD automatically) please check Retrieving the CA Certificate Hash the => here <=

a couple of things:

 

  • You are using an unsupported and outdated Software 5.4.1, please correct this and update as explained => here <=

  • But most importantly

    Is this Trio even in Skype for Business / LYNC mode as explained => here <=?

A "normal" Skype for Business registration should never go to Port 443 or 5060

Please factory reset the unit as explained => here <= and ensure it it in S4B mode as shown => here <=

 

If you still have issues please open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you.
