Re: how to add Softkey for Calendar in VVX 41x

Hello Jeff2017,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

In addition it is also useful if you post the part of your configuration and also if you looked at this:

Nov 25, 2011 Question: How can I change the functionality of a softkey button / use EFK?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

The above includes troubleshooting and logging suggestions.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Re: how to add Softkey for Calendar in VVX 41x

Hello Jeff,

again actually posting all relevant information at time of posting saves our voluntary moderators like myself an awful lot of time repeating things a user may be already aware off.

The "Read First" does mention this and also ask's users to provide the software version as a minimum detail for any new post.

You did not provide this and I asked for this again with no reply.

I also encouraged you to post your current implementation of the EFK function so we could check if there are any syntax errors.

As you already checked the FAQ you should by now be aware that if there if no actual $F function for it you cannot assign this directly. The only other way is to write an EFK with simulates the individual key presses.

If this is not a satisfactory solution for yourself you can always follow this:

Jan 03, 2013 Question: How can I request a change to the current Polycom SIP / UC Software?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Re: how to add Softkey for Calendar in VVX 41x

Hi Steffen,

thanks for the help!   our vvx411 software version is 5.4.1.17954 , with lync profile enabled.

I still could not figure out how to use EFK to simulate the key press and reach the Calendar,   how to present the  Home View button in EFK? then how to identify the Calendar in Home view screen?  if you can provide some hints, will be appreciated.

thanks,

Jeff.

Hello Jeff2017,

The Menu function get's you into the Menu View and you would then use ArrowRight to navigate however many times until you are on the Calendar Icon. You then use Select to chose the menu item.

Re: how to add Softkey for Calendar in VVX 41x

Hi Steffen,

it works. Thanks.

But if possible, would like to raise a Design Change Request for the Calendar, will be better if put into $F list, since the locaiton is different between build versions,  just update to 5.5.1.11526, the Location of Calendar is changed.   if I have hundred phohes, I do not want to change each time when upgrade.

Thanks,

Jeff.

Hello Jeff,

I already outlined in my prior reply how you need to raise a feature request.

We need a business case for this and it must be submitted via your Polycom reseller.Simply asking within the community is not the right way.
