I have found this topic: http://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP/Where-to-find-the-Lync-example-config-files-e-g/td-p/7934

However, these config files seem rather old. According to the Deployment Guide (Polycom® UC Software with Microsoft® Lync® Server and Skype for Business) the files should be here: Locate the following three Lync configuration files in your UC Software download in the folder PartnerConfig > Microsoft

I've downloaded several firmware versions, and I can't locate this folder in any of them. Could someone share these files (lyncSharedExample.cfg, lyncSharedLCExample.cfg)? Or point me where I could find them?

Thank you in advance.

Hello CarloBijl,

The linked post you mention above has the link to the "old" PDF which includes the files as an attachment inside the PDF and in addition as an attachment to the post.

Again, these are not really necessary anymore and should be only used as examples in regards of the formatting.

All you would need is to import / provision a certificate (if you do use a self created non publicly signed and trusted certificate) via:

  • Enter the root CA certificate, in Base64 format, in sec.TLS.customCaCert.1.
  • Set the application profile in sec.TLS.profileSelection.SIP.

In addition you may want to re-enable the Web Interface or set the phone to LYNC base Profile.

Hello CarloBijl,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

These files are no longer required as the post you found is from back in 2011.

Initially when Polycom started to support LYNC 2010 we offered these files to be utilized with Software version UC Software 4.0.0 in order to sign into LYNC.

Newer current releases like 5.x.x are automatically setting the relevant parameters for LYNC / Skype for Business / Office 365 once the phone is in LYNC base profile more or utilizing a phone ordered as the correct SKU.

Hi Steffen,

Thank you for your reply. This is a bit confusing. In the recent Polycom UC Software 5.4.1 with Microsoft Lync Server and Skype for Business – Deployment Guide (PDF) these files are still mentioned. So the featurs mentioned in this deployement are no located in the other config files?

Kind Regards,

Carlo

Just wanted to add that the instructions to use those files still are in the latest version of the deployment guid: http://support.polycom.com/content/dam/polycom-support/products/Voice/business_media_phones/setup-ma...

See page 23. If these steps are no longer required I think the document should be updated to reflect this.
