Struggling with some audio quality issues with SL8450 in our Lync environment I realized that media stream of all calls from and to SL8450 devices go through the Lync server and not directly to/from IPX gateway although media bypass is enabled.
Are there parameters in SL84xx configuration that enable Lync media bypass or some other circumstances that prevent using this feature?

The media path is determined by the SDP header in the SIP messages that the phone recieves in response to the initial INVITE. Media bypass is something that is enabled in the infrastructure (gateways, SBCs, etc.) not the phone.
You have to have a packet capture from the phone to analyze the SDP headers in the SIP messaging. However, analyzing packet captures is beyond the scope of this community, I think. You may need to contact your reseller.

These phones do not yet support the Media Bypass feature in Lync Server under the current 4.0.x software release. That feature will be coming in a future software update.
