We have a customer who has been having issue with their CX 8000 regarding content.  He is getting the message "tuning capture parameters".  He is using either the mini display port on the mac or HDMI on his PC's when this problem occurs.   My question is does the CX8000 support HDCP enabled devices?  Would the only work around be to use the VGA if they are even able to?  Say I put an HD scaler(crestron) in line between the content input and the content,  would that be able to resolve their issue?

The HDCP, High Definiton Content Protection, forum has not allowed videoconferencing to use their protected data as an input to systems.  The essence of the HDCP is to prevent the replicaiton of protected content, the basic goal of videoconferencing is the replication of people and content from one place to another, or multiple others.  Thus the difficluty with HDCP content.

Generlly conversion of HDCP content from digital format to analog format will allow it to be used as input to vc'ing systems.  Protections should be made that the content that is protected is not replicated at the far ends for reuse outside of the conference.
