Hi all,

I've been trying to pair a Polycom Touch Control with the Group series 500 unit (both running the updated firmware). However in the pairing menu on the Touch control i notice the following:

- There is no option to pair with a Group series unit (only HDX / Sound structure / ITP)

When i try pairing using any of the above options it just denies the IP address and prevents pairing.

Has anybody got any ideas on how to pair this?.

Happy to provide more information too

Regards

Navin

Hello Navin,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to post what you believe is the latest software as weeks or month down the line nobody will be able to match this statement against a current software version.

I am unsure if you are aware but there are actually different PTC software Versions for the HDX or the Group Series.

The HDX Software Variant is at present  1.6.0 and the variant for the Group Series is 4.1.1

Maybe you simply have installed the HDX variant instead of the Group Series.

Hi Steffen,

Thank you for your reply. Sorry i forgot to mention the versions, the Touch Control is running 1.6.0 . However i cant figure out how to install the 4.1.1 version on it, as everytime it performs an update it just updates it to the same version 1.6.0. Any idea how to get it to upgrade to the 4.1.1 version?

Sorry, this is my first time playing with the touch control if you havent noticed

It's OK nchand, You're not going mad.  We have been trying to persuade Polycom TSD that this is happening (for Polycom TSD see SR1-410755398).

The PTC for RPG systems MUST have V4.1.1 to work on V4.1.1 RPG systems (now V4.1.1.1).

Mikev has posted a link to RPG PTC s/w.  Download both files, unpack them, merge them onto a memory stick not >2MB.  Accept any warning to overwrite.Unplug the PTC network cable (ie power down), insert Memory stick & power back up.

Then it'll acquire V4.1.1 (or V4.1.1.1) & you can pair it to the RPG.  You'll still get the 3 options but just accept HDX.

Oh! and untick to automatic updates on the RPG & PTC to stop them from becomming out of s/w sysnc.
