I have a previously working VSX 8000 that will not power on (no lights on the power button at all). When I push the power button I hear a pop thru the speakers but then nothing. Everything else in the rack works and all are powered thru an UPS with a surge protector and I don't think we've had any electrical issues to speak of. I tried the peripheral device power steps, removing all connections except a monitor just to see but as I thought nothing.  I tried a different power cord and outlet with the same results.

 

Stranger yet, there was another suite with another VSX 8000 exhibiting the same symptoms at the same time.

 

Thoughts/ideas?

Hi Clyde.  My 1st thoughts were "power it up[ with the Camera & mic disconnected at the Codec end" but you've already done that.  I think you'll probably have to RMA it.  I sincerely hope it's under a maintenance contract.
