Hi,

we are developing a provisioning server and are now in the progress to move our provisioning server address to a new one.

Usually we reset the phones (VVX 411/211) and RealPresence Trio 8800, but we don't like to do this with devices we have already rolled out.

Is it possible to trigger a ZTP reconfiguration for devices whose ZTP data have been changed without rebooting or resetting the device?

There is a polling option on ZTP we have tried to use but without effect, because the device did not contact ZTP.

(I assume the polling option only gets activated once the device get rebooted)

Any help?

Thanks,

Lothar Behrens

Hello Lothar Behrens,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

You will have to reboot the devices.

Thank you,

I have tested the relocation of our provisioning service by restarting the system and restarting the telephone and also rebooting the system and the telephone. Nothing has changed.

I was only able to relocate by factory reset.

This has been tested with two Trio 8800 devices.

What do I probably miss in my configuration to enable ZTP contact at rebooting / restarting a device?

Thanks,

Lothar

Hello Lothar Behrens,

Once a phone is ZTP provisioned this turns the server off and the phone no longer checks for the ZTP server.

You would need to re-enable ZTP on the phone or factory reset the phone.

Config:

<code device.set="1" device.prov.ztpEnabled.set="1"  device.prov.ztpEnabled="0" />

Or via the GUI:

  • Menu => Settings => Advanced => Administrator Settings => Network Configuration => Provisioning Server => ZTP => Enable
