Hopefully someone can help.

 

I am trying to register a IP5000 as a sip extension to a Matrix pbx. The authentication ID password on the matrix side has to be a minimum of 6 characters long.

 

The polycom seems to only save 3 character passwords. Is this correct? Is there a update that removes this barrier if so?

 

The unit is running Bootblock 3.0.4.0001

Updater 5.0.4.0003

Hello Aelun,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include.

Resolution: Please check here

 

The password, whatever the length, will be Asterisked out once added and we use 3 stars for that.

Hi Steffen,

 

Thanks for you help, i do have a follow up question though. Are there any requirements for the password on the Polycom side. ie. are capital letters allowed, any symbols that will not work etc.
