We have just completed a deployment of Lync 2010 primarily using CX300 phones and Win 7 PC's. We are experiencing an issue where the microphone volume of the person using the CX300 is quiet for a few seconds and then increases to a higher level.

I have made sure that all power management is turned off for the USB ports but this seems to have made no difference. The behaviour occurs with internal and external calls but seems only to happen when the CX300 is used in conjunction with Lync. I have carried out some more test detailed bellow

Lync Client 4.0.7577.4103

Record using CX300 and windows sound recorder = No change in volume

Use a basic non certified USB microphone with Lync = No change in volume

Use an IP phone with Lync = No change in Volume

Use a CX300 with Lync = Low microphone volume increasing after a couple of sec.

Does the phone do some volume adjustments when used in conjunction with Lync?

Hello JSPLATT,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

From a Polycom Support Perspective you may be better advised to post this in a Microsoft community as the device completely relies on the LYNC Client and the Operating System from Microsoft.

Other members of the community may be able to post some advise as well.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.
