Hi All,

I have a customer who uses Polycom VVX410 they are experiencing calls cutting out but not dropping they continue after a few seconds.

The phones also display network down for a few seconds.

We have replaced the switches and router, had the internet tested by isp its a managed leased line.

only errors info i have off the phones is

dns lookup failed for null.unlimitedhorizon.co.uk

network eth0 link went down.

areaDnslookup: select time-out 1 on A lookup for 'xsp.unlimitedhorizon.co.uk' after 0 sec

i have done nslookup on this address and it resolves.

Can anyone shed any light on this as the phone company is less than helpful so far and its being going on for a while.

Hello Nick-Desktop,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

Is this installation using the originally provided cable and is the powered by PoE or a Power Supply.

Providing as much information as you can prevents asking questions afterwards. At present it sounds like a network issue.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

version 5.5.2.8571

They are also PoE but we have tried using a power supply and get same issue.

The phones work most of the time but they drop calls for a few seconds randomly.
