So i am new to working with and deploying polycom phones. I am currently trying to get a basic provsioning server working. The phones are vvx300. i am trying to update and configure are on software version 18.104.22.16874. I downloaded and extracted the 5.5.0 ucs sotware. I have modified the 000000000000.cfg, sip-basic.cfg, reg-phonemac.cfg and site cfg. Do i need to do a step upgrade before it can use the latest software? Is there a file i am missing thats suposed to be there. The provsioning server document does not drill down into to much detail.

The above explains how you utilize these files to load other files.
You can simply upgrade / downgrade to the software you wish in one step.

Thanks, I was able to get the phone to update. I did see it looking for a license file in the FTP logs and I find the post for the free site license file. Will it check the FTP server for a license file on all versions of UC software or are there versions that don't look for it. I just want to make sure I don't need to change the software again.
