Hello,

As I understand it, Polycom phones do not support SHA2 for any type of encryption (HTTPS or SIP.) With the deprecation of SHA1 fast approaching, servers will be forced to move to SHA2. Many CAs aren't even able to issue SHA1 certificates any more. Are there any plans for Polycom to update their software to support SHA2? This is about to become a very real problem for us.

Hello Jared,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

This should be raised as a Feature request via your Polycom reseller so we can track this properly.

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for the reply. The company that I work for is a call center and business telephony provider. We usually do not purchase Polycom phones for our clients, they typically bring their own. If we do purchase them, we usually use Amazon or the like. Thus, we do not currenlty have a Polycom reseller relationship established. We will investigate our options, however, I find it hard to believe that we would be the first organization to request such an (essential) feature, especially given the high number of thread views on this question. This thread is currently the top result when googling "Polycom SHA2".

Thanks,

Jared
