SoundPoint and VVX authorized USB memory manufacturers and models

Reviewing:

http://supportdocs.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/global/documents/support/technical/products/vo...

I was wondering if there was any chance there might be an updated version of this tech bulletin (maybe something from the last couple of years) and not 8 years old.  The goal is to provide my customer's with a list of acceptable USB memory storage types that can be used in the Soundpoint and VVX product lines for call recording.

Thanks

Re: SoundPoint and VVX authorized USB memory manufacturers and models

Hello Ian,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The SoundStation IP phones are soon end of life / end of support so to answer this is no. The VVX accepts most USB sticks and it is impossible to test every one of them.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Re: SoundPoint and VVX authorized USB memory manufacturers and models

Thanks so much for the prompt response Steffen.  Based on the reading of the original Bulletin regarding the acceptable Vendor and product ID information, I would assume that would be how functionality is restrcited now.  Would it be possible to get an expanded listing of the USB vendor / product ID built into the VVX model group?

Additionally, is there a size restriction for the amount of USB connected memory?  Everything from the bulletin is 4GB or less, actually finding those on the market is proving difficult.

So far my testing with free / no_name USB memory sticks has proven unsuccessful, while I have had success with the SanDisk Cruzer Glide 8GB model.

Thanks so much for your time,

Re: SoundPoint and VVX authorized USB memory manufacturers and models

Hello Ian,

as already explained the SoundPoint Phones are nearing end of sale / end of life so the "original" document will not be updated.

The VVX phones should accept major brands like already tested by yourself. Polycom is unable to test every single USB stick out there and staying with a known brand should usually work.

The size limit also cannot be tested but you should be able to utilize 32 GB. You could post in this topic so we can create a list here.
