Hi All,

Will the following XML example for VVX firmware upgrade require the user to manually select and initialize the firmware download?  We are trying to upgrade just a subset of VVX phones to the 5.1.2 firmware; hence, we do not want to change the Options 66, etc.  If this will require user intervention, then can you suggest an alternative?

     </device.prov>
</device>

Thanks,

Hi Steffen,

Thank you for your quick reply; however, the FAQ did not help.

We are trying to establish a Polycom phone configuration regimen that stores the individual phone configuration information in a single directory structure on the server. To accommodate different firmware loads, we are seeking a means for each configuration to indicate or "point" to the firmware load it is to receive. We are finding though, that the phone will only load the firmware co-resident with the configuration. This in itself is not a problem for the default user—run the "standard" load. However, we want the ability on a per user basis, to specify an alternate load that the phone should obtain.

If configuration does not specify a firmware version, download the default version.

If the configuration specifies a firmware version, download it from the specified directory.

We are presently using this XML snippet in the configuration files…,

<device>
<device.prov device.prov.upgradeServer="https://our.place.com/pub/firmware/VVX5.1.2/">
      <device.prov.upgradeServer device.prov.upgradeServer.set="1">
      </device.prov.upgradeServer>
     </device.prov>
</device>

…but find that the only way to get the specified download is manually to select it through the phone Web interface. We need a solution where the phone automatically follows the specification in the configuration file when stimulated to reload.

 Any help would be appreciated!  we would like to get this working by Monday.

Hello TI2014,

Any device parameter change requires the usage of the device.set="1" to be activated.
