Hello,

Is there a way to disable the VVX500 from switching back and forth from Lync Status to Time?

We're running the following software versions and we are in Lync mode:

UC Software Version 5.0.2.2185

Updater Version 5.2.2.2158

just about to post the same question.  We just upgraded to 5.0.2 as well.  Super annoying.

Hello All,

to my knowledge this is working as designed and I am personally not aware of a way to remove / change this.

If you would like this to be addressed in a future release you need to work with your Polycom reseller in order to bring this to the attention of a Polycom sales engineer. You will need a business proposal to justify the change and include the amount of end points that are affected by this.

Please also provide the prove of a LYNC license per endpoint as described below.

Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:

The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.

Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.

Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found => here <=

There's got to be a custom config option we can set on our provisioning server for this.  I mean seriously, every second your phone is flashing your status/date.  The only way I have found to turn this off is to disable enhanced presense, but then you can't have your Lync favorites show up as quick dial keys any longer.

Hello ChadP,

I had replied to this and the other post and I did outline the correct procedure to get this to the attention of Polycom.

One solution may be to disable the clock

Please ensure you provide proof of LYNC licenses that will entitle you to run the software on your Phones when you raise this with our support team.

Dear all,

Just to clarify this post .

  • Before UCS 5.0.2 the phone would display any other status than available and alternate this with the time.

  • UCS 5.0.2 the phone will display any status including available and alternate this with the time.

I did bring this up internally but I would suggest as advised already to log this with your Polycom reseller.

Please also provide your proof of LYNC license for these cases.

Best Regards
