Want to verify that New 8200 Voyager can't connect to my office avaya phone? BT700 won't connect

I have spoken with support and was informed that my brand new Voyager 8200 UC can not connect to my Avaya phone through the MDA220. However, it is supposed to work with the older BT600 USB. What I am trying to figure out is why in the wild world of sports would you design and manufacture a device that is being widely used in call centers and make it functionally obsolete by creating a USB dongle that won't allow office phone connections? I understand that there are newer products that are being sold for the office environment, but this phone was purchased with the intent of joining my peers who are all bid endorsers of this particular headset for our loud office environment. Is it not possible to put out a patch to the BT700 so that it can function as all of the previous Headsets could with the BT600? I am hoping that I was given wrong information, and perhaps there is another way to use a Voyager 8200 for connecting to a desk phone. I have purchased the EHS cable, the MDA220, a New Voyager 8200 Headset and now I can't use any of it. I thought I was upgrading from my Savi unit with the noise cancelling, but now I am back to using the Savi while I scratch my head trying to find a workaround. Please tell me I am wrong and that there is another way to accomplish the simple task, that was previously working, on my new headset.

Welcome to Poly Community.

The MDA220 is an old generation audio switcher and hence not compatible with current generation Bluetooth USB adapters like BT700. The easiest way to find the compatible accessory for your desk phone please search our desk phone compatibility page to see the advised/tested accessories for your Avaya Phone model and accordingly you need to change the current setup or buy the BT600 as a solution.
