Polycom RMX 2000/4000 - Microsoft OCS 2007 R2 - Content Sharing

Hello,

Whenever I connect clients using Microsoft OCS 2007 R2 using one of our bridges (Polycom RMX 2000 or 4000), along with other Polycom endpoints (HDX series), when the endpoint tries to share content, the OCS clients do not receive it.

The issue is also appearant when the OCS client tries to share desktop back to the endpoints.

  • Is this related to the profile used within the RMX?
  • Is there a flag/additional setting that needs to be enabled for this to happen?

On a side note, when an endpoint (with a registered SIP account) connects directly and shares content with the OCS (no RMX), no issues occur.

Any help will be most appreciated!

Best Regards,

DG

Have you got Content Send to Legacy enabled under the system flags? I think it is on the profile too.  That should enable the content to be transcoded in the VMR.

Fro H.239 content sent from a standards-based endpoint to the RMX all you need to do is enable the Conference Profile setting that Graham mentioned (Send Content to Legacy Endpoints), there is no System Flag required.  The RMX will embed the content as video.

Regarding content in the other direction OCS and Lync clients cannot send native content to any standards-based endpoint or bridge as H.239 is not compatible with Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol which is used by the Microsoft clients when 'Share Desktop' or any application is selected.
