We have a requirement to configure RMX 2000 for use different network segments for management and for media (please note: media is routed by a single network, so the Network Separation option is not the subject). As I can understand we need:

- RTM LAN card

- System flag RMX2000_RTM_LAN=Yes

Questions:

1. Is this enough?

2. Is there a difference between RTM LAN 2000 and RTM LAN 4000?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

RTM - LAN is a module which is inserte don the back of the RMX and is matched with a MPM inserted into the front. It has 2 network ports with one is required and the other is for redundancy. Two IP addresses get assigned to this network connection, signaling and media.

the RTM-IP card is the one on the bottom. There is also a network connection to this module. Again, 2 IP addresses are needed, management and hardware monitoring.

These 2 ards can be on separate networks if needed as these cards represent to different functions and services within the RMX. I would get the RTM-LAN card which matches your RMX version - 2000 or 4000.

Simons,

Thanks for the reply.

I know the different roles of RTM LAN and RTM IP, but the core of my question was about the RTM LAN 2000 and RTM LAN 4000: is it the same card or they are two different?

Please note that in the price lists refer to only one card:

RMX 4000 Rear Transition Module for IP Media (RTM LAN), equipped with two (2) RJ-45 Ethernet connections (field replaceable), P/N VRMX4006P.
