Is there anyway to turn off the music for a while a particpant waits for others to join a meeting room? We are finding the music to be rather annoying. I'm looking for an option to do this in the Conference Profiles of the RMX manager application.

In my classes I teach the student to NOT turn off the music.   It is good to help you know that your audio system is working (and turned up).

Turning down is fine as is changing it to something you fine more pleasant.

You change this in the RMX Manager -> Rarely Used -> IVR Services -> Conference IVR Service or Entry Queue IVR Service.

Good Luck,

Gary,

Thanks for the quick reply. Your point is well received.

But is there a way to not hear the hold music? I'm using a RMX 1500 and want to create a profile without the music, 90% of the people will use a profile with the music but there are some times where the music causes problems.

We changed the music on ours to a rainforest music track that has been well received. Loud enough for people to know sound is working but less annyoing than the preloaded Polycom music.

We change ours on a regular basis, different music or announcements for company events and what not but the music causes trouble when bridging video conferences. What happens is someone in the room disconnects when the part they are concerned about is over, then the far end is the only active person in the call and the hold music starts and interrupts.

I'd like to create a profile for VTCs without the music because we do A/V checks before each meeting and like I said the music just interrupts.

Hello Garry,

we have Polycom realconnect deployed in our environment. when ever first vtc dials to conference a cascaded link to avmcu is dialed out and another link from css gateway dials in. is there any way i can  display a screen to first  particepant informing they are the only partcipant who have joined ?

Nilesh,

Take a look at RMX Admin's Guide and search for 'Gathering Phase'. This seems like just you want.

So I'm still having the issue of the hold music interupting video conferences, any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Enigma1500,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

If nobody has yet replied or you are seeing a different issue please open a ticket.

In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
