Hi all,

I would like to understand how Screen Layout is controlled when joining an RMX meeting.

  • From a Polycom endpoint
  • From a SIP (third party endpoint) - No TIP.

I have seen that Polycom endpoint can control the layout.

What about the SIP third party endpoints. (Cisco TelePresence sends active speaker and hollywood stripe)

Can we emulate something similar?

Question:

Which protocol Polycom endpoints use to control Layout? - Is it propietary or standard?

What controls what Media Layout SIP (third party endpoints) receive?

Thanks

Hi gg608f

You can use a RMX's Click&View feature for control a conference layout from endpoints. Click&View uses DTMF tone signals.

more information in >>RealPresence Collaboration Server (RMX) 1500/1800/2000/4000 Administrator’s Guide 8.3<<

The guide contains also information about available conference layouts.
