Cant register room names with Pano App instead of IP's

Has anyone been able to use the new Pano app with the Polycom trio's 8800 and visula+ box or the groupseries and get the room name listed.


Just to be clear, we do not have the new Pano box, we are just using the app which works fine, but will not allow you to enter a room name, only an IP address is allowed. apparently we need a Polycom cloud account to make this work.


If anyone found a workaround, please share.

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I sked this internally and here is what I got back:


IP address is currently the only way to manually connect to a system. From what I see, the name only populates after successfully connecting to a Pano or if the client discovers the Pano via Bluetooth. If we need additional functionality or modified behavior for connecting to non-Pano devices we'll need those products to support a Bluetooth beacon or provide a name after the first connection.


I assume this would be a feature request.
