Polycom CX5500 with external Speaker

We are using a CX5000 and CX5500 in two large meeting rooms and the audio output from the built-in speaker isn't loud enough.


We can take the speaker audio from the Skype PC to external speakers to sort this, but then the camera follows the remote speaker and shows the screen of themselves talking. This isn't a nice effect.


Is there a way of getting this audio stream out of the CODEC unit so that it can be ignored in the same way that the in-buit speaker ignores teh remote audio?

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The rca aka phono outputs on the CX5500 hardware are not active and there are no plans to enable these.

To my knowledge there is no other way to do this.
