ALL polycom CMA4000's are running Microsoft Server 2003 on the backend. As of July 14th 2015 Microsoft will terminate support for all versions of Windows Server 2003. Does polycom have any future plans to upgrade the backend software for their equipment? I am sure that there are a lot of large companies like ours who are making plans to upgrade their servers to Microsoft Server 2008.  If polycom is not planning to do anything with their backend os are they planning to come out with a new product? If they are coming out with say a Linux based product will companies be given a discount if they turn in their old CMA units?  Any feed back is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The windows OS which is included in the CMA product line is a special OEM version and does not have any direct support aggrement with Microsoft. So even if you did call microsoft, they would refer you to the vendor.

The CMA has reached the end of the development cycle. There is a plan in place to upgrade the CMA to the Resource Manager (RPRM) which is the next generation platform of the CMA. The RPRM has a Linux OS of the Windows OS.
