Hi,

we have a Customer asking about a specifi DNS question on RPAD and maybe someone had passed by this situation or have a workarround.

The RPAD is configured with 3 interfaces at this order (LAN-WAN):

External (INTERNET behind NAT)

Internal (customer internal DMZ)

Management (OoB Mgmt)

This is a secure Network with certificates and all the RPAD relationships are pointing to FQDNs.

The problem is that the RPAD is searching for the DNS through the Mgmt interface, instead to send the requests to the Internal Interface.

They configured a static route on RPAD pointing to the Internal interface but the RPAD still send the DNS requests to the Mgmt interface.

Any ideas?

Thanks

This is by design. The internal reference is for internal signalling, media, and access proxy features. This is similar to the external roles as well. These only relate to actual video conferencing traffic as opposed to managment related. However, you do have a strong case, so I would suggest calling Polycom support to enter a feature request.
