We are having a serious problem with the RSS 2000 appliances. Out of the eight RSS 2000 appliances we have in use, virtually none of them have been able to consistently record/archive ITV conferences for playback.

Very often we have to utilize three RSS's just in case one or two of them fail. This is because so often the WMV format archive will only have a size of say 36kb instead of 116mb. So perhaps some of the archives are not processing successfully for whatever reason...

However, this is not the only problem. Whenever the RSS fails to produce a usable WMV format archive, what we often attempt to do is use the RSS2000ArchiveConverter tool to convert the Native format archives to MP4 format... This would be a viable solution; however, even the Archive Converter fails to convert the Native format archive for the majority of the time (status hangs at around 50% and never progresses). So perhaps even the native archives are not usable or maybe corrupted in many cases...?

Is there anything that we can do to ensure that we are able to record ITV conferences consistently in the future? These recording are necessary for students enrolled in ITV classes who are sometimes unable to attend class for various reasons. I have tried rebooting and re-installing the software to the RSS's and have seen no results whatsoever...

Thanks,

Kenny
