We have recently installed Resource Manager to assist with managing our fleet of 900 plus Polycom endpoints (mix of HDX and RPG).

My query is, can I use RM to monitor the alrams from the endpoints? I am most interested in being alerted when the temperature goes above 60 degrees...

Thanks in advance!

Hello @JohnFerro ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I am quite sure we had an internal discussion about the temperature and as far as I am aware the temperature is not an alertable point.

If you follow the installation directions you should not have a temperature issue with the codec.

The RPRM has an Alert > Alert Level Settings where you can define thresholds and in addition you can either setup Email alerts by creating and Alert > Remote Alert Profiles which can trigger email and SNMP.

You either then add an Email in Admin > Server Settings > E-mail or enable and download the MIBS from Admin > Server Settings > SNMP Settings

In addition the GroupSeries at least can use SYSLOG and maybe a 3rd party toold can monitor for messages like:

2018-12-12 02:57:00.412 INFO syssrv: hd[0]: Time: 2018-12-12 02:57:00.955, temp1: 39, temp2: 39

For more details consult the Admin Guide and/or work with your Polycom reseller.
