Video conference call failure from Tandberg to Polycom behind VBP

Video Conference Calling Problem Description

1-    We have Polycom infrastructure network [ Polycom HDX 8000 – CMA 4000 – RMX 2000 – VBP 5300 ST] in IPA.

2-    We face problem in IPA site that we couldn't receive call from Tandberg endpoint behind firewall in another site that have real ip address connected to internet directly to call our polycom endpoint  which located behind VBP 5300 ST that connected to internet directly.

3-    We want to know what the reason of failing connection between Tandberg endpoint in another site and polycom endpoint in IPA site.

4- How make Tandberg call polycom behind VBP?

The VBP-ST is used to register external endpoints to the VBP-ST unit which would proxy the registeraton request to your gatekeeper. So first you would need to have the Tandberg endpoint register to the VBP-ST. Then you can place calls like you were on the network.

A VBP-E might be better suited as it will allow external participants to dial resources like in above except without having the endpoints register to the VBP.

How can i write the number in call place of tandberg endpoint in site A to call polycom endpoint behind VBP in my site ?

It would depend on if the endpoint making the call is registered to a gatekeeper. But here are the two dial string.

<VBP WAN IP address>##<alias>

or

<alias>@<VBP WAN IP addres>

Tandberg endpoints generally don't support dialing the first method which is TCS4 dialing. They tend to support the second method which is called Annex O dialing.
