Sir,

Our company buy a polycom VBP 5300-E, I installed that VBP on our central office and connect its wan interface with Internet and lan interface with our lan, Our central office are connected with  some branch offices through MPLS. Every office has a HDX system. I configure that VBP as a embbered  gatekeeper, When i call from internet to our offices by dialling “VBP Public IP ## E.164”, call establish successfully. But when i call from intranet to internet (say Polycom test ip), call cannot establish.  Please give me a solution.

Thanks

Tirtha

1) you should be dialing E.164@VBP WAN IP address

2) For devices inside your network, the network path to get to the Internet is determined by your network. How does your network know to route xyz video packet over to the VBP instead of your data firewall? If you had a CMA or DMA, the gatekeeper would route the call to the VBP.

If you don't have these products, which sounds extremely likely, then you can set the default gateway of the HDX to the LAN IP address of the VBP assuming the HDXs have an IP address in the same subnet as the LAN side of the VBP.

If the above is not the case, then you have the option of using VLANS which you can use to segment your existing network into smaller more managable networks. By using a VLAN, you can set the default gateway to be the LAN side of the VBP.

I hope this helps.
