Plantronics + Polycom. Now together as Poly Logo Random Reboots

Advisor Random Reboots

Good morning, a few of our Executive Assistance have reported random reboots of their phone. On one occurance it happened while in the middle of a call. In both scenarios the affected users are delegates to many other users.


Software version:

Mac Address: 00:04:f2:d4:a0:99

Platform: Skype for Business


Are there any known bugs with this software release that would cause these random reboots?

What model of phone are you using?


We had a similar issue with one of ours (VVX500) and traced it back to a faulty PoE injector.

We to are using vvx500. No poe injector but running of Poe switch ports. Networking guys said nothing is wrong with the switch port but might get them to swap ports to see if it addresses the issue. We have about 150 vvx deployed, all on the same firmware version, and only 3 known reboot incidents so I'm leaning towards faulty switch ports as well.

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Apart from using a no longer supported software as you should be running 5.4.4 or 5.4.3 instead are there any logs or core dumps on your provisioning server?




  • Upgrade to a currently supported Software version
  • If the issue still occurs check the logs and any core dump files if available and raise this with SCANSOURCE COMMUNICATIONS who are your Tier 1 support
