We upgraded several of our VVX 500 phones to 5.5.0 and now the phones automatically lock when idle, or when a user locks their PC. What configuration file options can I use to disable this feature?

Hello AlphaTheory,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

Please ensure you always check the relevant Release notes before upgrading to a new release.

 

The UC Software 5.5.0 Release Notes state on Page 3:

 

  • UC Software 5.5.0 has not been qualified by Microsoft to use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments. Polycom will not support UC Software 5.5.0 use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments.

 

You therefore using an unsupported Software Version for your current Platform.

Hi,

 

I'm a complete beginner in this case but I have to administrate our vvx 600 phones during the holidays. Most of the phones are updated to ucs 5.5.0 and the lock feature is really embarrassing. In which config file I have to insert the mentioned code?

feature.deviceLock.enable="0"

How do I disable phone lock permanently  from the web interface?  5.5.0.20556  web interface doesnt show lock feature as an option to disable.

Hello phoenix007,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

I have twice outlined in this post that UC Software is not a supported version for LYNC / Skype deployments.

 

In addition I posted a FAQ explaining the relevant parameter to disable this feature and another user posted this as well.

 

Simply disable the lock policy on the server end.


I am closing this post to prevent further discussions about feature in a unsupported version.
