Is there any way that the Poly Trio Visual+ can be used with Teams for audio purposes? I don't see an audio setting on our Trio 8800 after updating it to Teams today.

Hello @darrinj95 ,

Welcome back to the Poly Community.

From our Skype FAQ:

July 19. 2019 Question: Can a Poly Trio 8800 or 8500 support Microsoft Teams or Zoom at the same time as Skype for Business or openSIP?

Resolution: If the Poly Trio is running the native Teams app you cannot use any other Line.
Teams on the Trio 8500/8800 is mutually exclusive and does not allow pairing with a Visual+/VisualPro for Video. The device will be Audio only.
The native Zoom room application is the same. Zoom can be used in a Hybrid setup as explained => here <=

For follow up question, if you want to keep the Trio & Visual+/VisualPro setup, please work with a Poly reseller for our RealConnect for Teams product.

What would be the next option if we wanted to keep the Trio 8800, but have something else that can connect the audio output to our surround sound? If there is any other option besides using RealConnect for Teams.

Hello @darrinj95

you have 2 options:

  • Just the Trio on its own as an Audio Device in MS Team mode. No other connectivity
  • Keep Trio and Visual+/VisualPro in openSIP mode and use RealConnect for Teams. The Visual+/VisualPro can use external Speakers via 3.5mm
