We are a small office (6 users) and trying to run "Old School". We have a receptionist who answers our incoming calls. With our current old PBX system, if she is unavailable anyone can pick up the call with a single button press.
We are testing SfB on the Cloud Platform from Microsoft. I have configured a Call Attendant that forwards to the receptionist phone. I am trying to better understand the options for handling calls when she can not respond.
Reading the Admin guide I see:
*Directed Call Pickup
*Group Call Pickup
Someplace I think I saw a Boss\Delegate function.
Currently we are testing the "Team Call Group" within Skype itself. This rings on all phones in the call group and requires the user to press thier extension to answer. Optionaly I can set a delay for this to ring on phones other than the receptionist.
Can some one please help me understand the differences and mechanics of the other options (button presses etc) and which are supported on the MS Cloud Platform.
We are testing with a vvx411.
welcome to the Polycom Community.
It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.
This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.
The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .
In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.
Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:
Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here
In addition some of the verbiage used for pick up groups in the admin guide may be for OpenSIP only and you should consult the Skype for Business Admin Guide instead.
