Is anyone familar with this error?  I found a post from November 2015 on Reddit that indicates this is possibliy related to the Polycom VVX.  I see these errors anywhere from every 20-30 minutes and it typically indicates some communication to a federated partners edge server/pool.  While this doesnt appear critical, if we can reduce the amount of pollution in our event logs I would like to do that.

 

Can anyone confirm this, is there a fix?

The error states the following:

At least one invalid authentication signature was detected.  There were 21 messages with invalid signatures in the last 1 minute.  The last one was this SIP message.

 

Cause: this could be due to a client or server which is not handling authentcation correctly, or it could be due to an attacker.  

Resolution: None needed unless the failure count is high (>100).  Check your network for any rouge clients, restart the server if hte problem persists.

This VVX500 was sold back in 25/03/2014 by SCANSOURCE COMMUNICATIONS.

 

Please be aware that is not a LYNC / Skype SKU as explained => here <= and you need to ensure you have the right amount of per device Licenses purchased from Polycom for the phones you use.

 

In order to open a ticket you need to work with SCANSOURCE COMMUNICATIONS and as the unit is well out of warranty need to Pay Per Incident / PPI.

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes.

The above is also stated in the "Read First"

Stating the above I have seen a similar issue but have so far been unable to reproduce this.

 

You need to open a service ticket with your Polycom reseller.

 

If the reseller is some Internet discounter and is unable or unwilling to do this please provide me with a MAC address of one of the phones and I look this up.

We have the same behavior on all our Lync/SfB sites, where we have total attached approx. 2000 Polycom VVX410 (5.4.5.6770). It seems that the error only occurs on all phones, where a federated contact was added to the Lync/SfB groups.

 

We see no limitations or errors on the phones self, but the eventlog on the Lync/SfB frontend severs will become unusable, because all seems red from such a lot 14435 messages.

 

MAC-Address from one of the affected devices: 00-04-F2-6F-B9-6E

So far nobody has reported this to us into support or nobody has provided accounts where we could reproduce this.

 

Your unit was sold via Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH back in 22/03/2016 so please work with them to get a ticket open so we can deal with this.

Hello,

 

we have the same problem with our Polycom phones (VVX300, VVX410, VVX500).

 

In Skype for Business appears a lot of EventID 14435 caused by the polycom phones.

Currently we have installed the frimware 5.5.1.11526

 

The serial number of one phone is 0004f2c9462e

 

The eventID 14435 appears for federated contacts.

 

Is there a solution?

We tried to raise this via Microsoft but it seemed there was not contract so it never made it that far. Have you got a contract with Microsoft so you could raise this?

 

The VVX410 was sold via ALSO Deutschland GmbH so they are your Tier 1 contact once the MSFT ticket is open.
